Second half improvement secures victory for The Centurions

Uhlsport Hellenic League

Premier Division

Cirencester Town  6 - 0  Lydney Town

The Centurions returned to The Talent Hire Stadium for their latest Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division fixture against LYDNEY TOWN and after scoring just before the interval, and two more within minutes of the re-start, they went on to secure a comprehensive victory.

Cirencester opened strongly to press their visitors and despite plenty of possession that created a number of openings they were unable to open their account until very late in the first half when FINLEY BELL collected an attempted clearance to tuck the ball into the empty net.

Within minutes of the re-start Cirencester added a second following an excellent period of passing as the ball was worked from left to right to provide room for Finley Bell to shoot and HARLIE PRICE to provide a clever back-heel finish from just outside the 6-yard box.

Three minutes later another neat move enabled THEO JEREMY to cut along the right byline before blasting the ball into the net.

HARLIE PRICE scored his second from close range leading up to the mid-point of the half and THEO JEREMY completed his brace nine minute later.

Despite the score-line the visitors mounted a couple of spirited attacks but as the game was drawing to a close GEORGE PEARE completed the scoring with a precise strike over the stranded ‘keeper.
