Paulton Rovers 1 – 6 Cirencester Town
Cirencester made the most of their final fixture before the ‘National Lockdown’, due to the Covid-19 pandemic by scoring six at Paulton in yet another ‘action packed’ match between the sides.
The match was ‘end-to-end’ from the start and whilst the home side struck the woodwork twice in the opening 20 minutes the visitors opened the scoring with a rare headed goal from JOE TURLEY shortly afterwards.
As half-time was approaching JOSH PARSONS struck the woodwork twice before finally tucking his shot inside the left post.
Four minutes after the re-start JOSH PARSONS scored his second and before the hour a marauding Nick Hancock cross was diverted into the home net for an OWN GOAL.
Shortly after the mid-point of the half Parsons was again denied by the woodwork, as was Jonny Dennis before ROSS GABRIEL scored from close range after some incisive the build-up play.
A few minutes later the home side were awarded a Penalty Kick and DAVID O’HARE converted despite Alex Harris getting a hand to it.
On the stroke of 90 minutes TOMMY ANDERSON completed the scoring as his cross-shot clipped the inside of the far- left post on its way into the net.
