The Centurions through to the next round of the FA Vase

The Isuzu FA Vase
Second Round Qualifying
Mangotsfield United 1 - 4 Cirencester Town
The Centurions were on the road again for this Second Qualifying Round fixture in The Isuzu FA Vase as they travelled to Bristol to meet opponents MANGOTSFIELD UNITED and after an entertaining match it was the visitors that secured a place in the next round of the competition.
The sides met a couple of weeks ago at The Talent Hire Stadium in the Uhlsport Hellenic League when Cirencester secured a 2-0 victory.
The home side started positively in the opening minutes - although it was the visitors that tested their opponents ‘keeper first as Will Tubbs left his box to clear the ball off the pitch.
Cirencester opened the scoring following a free kick as HARLIE PRICE darted forward to head over Tubbs.
Six minutes later Cirencester added a second when a Jack Horrell free kick was parried by Tubbs for ED SCOTT to drive the rebound into the net.
The home side continued to push forward but couldn’t break down their visitor’s defence whilst Cirencester looked dangerous throughout.
The Mangos pressed from the re-start without reward whilst Cirencester had a number of efforts blocked before a neat move resulted in a close-range finish from HARLIE PRICE.
With nothing to lose the home side pressed forward in earnest and finally scored following a goalmouth scramble with JACOB SPENCE providing the final touch.
In the final minutes of the match JONTY WELCH added a fourth to complete the scoring.
