The Centurions record second successive league victory

Cirencester Town 2 - 0 Mangotsfield United
Former Southern League opponents MANGOTSFIELD UNITED were the latest visitors to The Talent Hire Stadium for an Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division fixture and after an entertaining game the home side secured their second successive league victory of the current campaign.
Cirencester pressed their visitors from the kick off and within a few minutes had opened their account as JONTY WELCH provided a clinical finish.
The home side continued to work the ball down their flanks as they dominated possession and Mangotsfield mounted the occasional counter attacks but found the home defence in determined mood.
Shortly after the mid-point of the first half Cirencester added a second goal when Welch and HARLIE PRICE combined for the latter to tuck the ball home from 10-yards.
A few minutes later Cirencester had the ball in the visitor’s net again but it was disallowed for ‘offside’.
During the interval Mangotsfield made a couple of substitutions and just before the hour mark thought they had scored, following a quick counter attack down the centre, but it was disallowed for ‘offside’.
Cirencester continued to press after the interval whilst the visitors, encouraged by their disallowed goal, started to move the ball about more positively but could not break through the home defence.
