The Centurions unable to recover from two goals in two minutes

Uhlsport Hellenic League

Premier Division

Lydney Town  3 - 1  Cirencester Town

The Centurions returned to Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division action, following their endeavours in the Wiseman Lighting (UHL) Floodlit Cup Final Challenge Cup Final (First Leg) in mid-week, as they travelled to the Forest of Dean to face an ‘in-form’ LYDNEY TOWN side that scored a quick brace in the first half to secure the points.

The home side indicated their intent early in proceedings as they had the ball in the Cirencester net after only 4-minutes but it was ruled out for ‘offside’ and although the visitors created a couple of chances in reply a quick brace from ARCHIE MYATT just after the mid-point of the first half proved to be too much for them to overcome.

During the second half Lydney had a couple of ‘goals’ disallowed for infringements in the build-up play but as the match was drawing to a close SEAN McKEON added a third and JACK FREEMAN scored a consolation goal from the Penalty Spot for Cirencester.
