The Centurions third successive Hellenic League – Premier Division home match brought CORSHAM TOWN to The Talent Hire Stadium and after an encouraging recovery in the first half, an early goal in the second period enabled The Quarrymen to go on and secure a resounding victory.
Corsham made the perfect start when JEMAR SOUTH-THOMAS opened the scoring within 7-minutes of kick-off as he supported to finish from close range before ‘keeper Sam Ayres could recover from his block of Jamal Salawu firm shot.
Cirencester responded positively to the setback to press their visitors but were vulnerable to the counter attack from their opponents who added a second shortly after the mid-point when JAVI BLASQUEZ well-placed shot from the edge of the box wrong-footed Ayres as it went into the bottom corner.
Four minutes later the visitors added a third as a fierce strike from JAMAL SALAWU clipped the left post on its way into the net.
Ten minutes from the scheduled interval JORDAN MORRIS reduced the deficit when he embarked on a strong run down the left channel before driving his shot inside the right post.
Cirencester added a second in added-time when a visiting defender’s clearance rebounded of the post for JACK FREEMAN to finish from close range.
Going to the interval an interesting second half was anticipated but the visitors scored within 3-minutes through a powerful JAKE WILSON header and, despite a spirited effort from their hosts, dominated to add further goals from JAVI BLASQUEZ and DYLAN LEWIS.
