Cirencester take the points despite The Foresters recovery

Uhlsport Hellenic League
Premier Division
Cirencester Town 3 - 2 Cinderford Town
The latest visitors to The Talent Hire Stadium for an Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division fixture were long-term County rivals CINDERFORD TOWN and after conceding 3-goals within the hour a spirited recovery from The Foresters tested their hosts resolve.
The home side opened the match with a number of attacks down their flanks and despite plenty of possession they found it difficult to break through their opponent’s defence whilst Cinderford threatened occasionally through free kicks and occasional counter attacks.
The dead-lock was finally broken five minutes before the interval when debutant Rhys Wells delivered an accurate corner kick to the front edge of the 6-yard box where GEORGE PEARE burst through to powerfully head into the net.
ED SCOTT and THEO JEREMY added two more for the hosts in the opening ten minutes of the second half and Cirencester seemed to be in control - but The Foresters responded by changing their shape and by the mid-point of the half had scored two of their own through BEN VINE and OLLIE TAYLOR to make things really interesting as the visitor’s tested the home defences resolve.
As both sides went in search of goal – clincher or equaliser – play became end-to-end and whilst openings were created the score remained the same and Cirencester took the 3-points.
