League leaders take the points with late winner against The Centurions

Uhlsport Hellenic League
Premier Division
Cirencester Town 1 - 2 Roman Glass St George
The latest Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division fixture brought league leaders ROMAN GLASS ST. GEORGE to The Talent Hire Stadium and after a very entertaining, end-to-end, encounter it was the visitors that secured the 3-points with a late goal.
Cirencester attacked down their flanks from the kick-off, whilst their visitors countered with quick breaks of neat one-touch football to create the first shot on goal in the second minute.
Six minutes into the contest Cirencester failed to secure the ball on their left flank and the cross that followed reached JAY MALPAS who managed to force it home from 10-yards.
Cirencester continued to press without really threatening the visitors goal - and The Glass replied with quick passing, interspersed with long balls to their fluid front line - but shortly after the mid-point Fraser Bell crossed the ball to the far-left post where JACK FREEMAN bravely competed to head it home.
The game became ‘end-to-end’ but remained all-square at the interval, and after the break it continued in this fashion with both sides going for a result and this proved to be the undoing of Cirencester.
As Cirencester pressed, they lost the ball and a swift counter attack followed with DAN STONEMAN managing to tuck the rebound of his initial shot into the net.
With only ten minutes plus added-time remaining Cirencester began to force their play and as a result became a little disjointed enabling their visitors to threaten in the closing minutes.
