Cirencester secure Premier Division safety in competitive match at Pershore Town

Uhlsport Hellenic League
Premier Division
Pershore Town 1 - 1 Cirencester Town
As the season draws to a close Cirencester were once again on the road - to face another ‘in form’ opponent in the shape of PERSHORE TOWN at the Recruit Community Stadium - in an Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division fixture and following a hard-fought match of endeavour and entertaining football honours were even at the final whistle.
The game started at a brisk pace with early chances at both ends but following a period of pressure on the Cirencester defence the home side opened the scoring when HARLIE PRICE managed to guide his header into the top right corner.
As the half was drawing to a close Cirencester pressed hard and had the ball in the Pershore net twice but both were disallowed – offside and foul.
Cirencester came out for the second period in determined mood to create a couple of early chances, and shortly before the mid-point FINLEY BELL fired a low, hard strike towards the bottom left corner that took a slight deflection off a defender to find the back of the home net.
Despite plenty of pressure Cirencester were unable to break through a stubborn home defence and it remained all-square at the final whistle.
