Another superb team performance secures the points against second-placed Mangotsfield

Uhlsport Hellenic League

Premier Division

Mangotsfield United  0 - 2  Cirencester Town

The latest fixture for Cirencester Town in the Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division took them to face long-standing, and currently high-flying, rivals MANGOTSFIELD UNITED and following a very competitive match The Centurions continued their good run of form to return with the 3 points.

The match started at a good pace with both sides looking to get forward and by the mid-point of the first half a number of chances had been created, but shortly after the 30-minute mark FINLEY BELL latched onto a ball over the home rearguard to open the scoring with a clinical finish.

When the home side responded a diving Ronnie Newbery collected a dangerous ball into his 6-yard box to eliminate the threat and almost immediately from the re-start the ‘keeper denied Olly Sully in a 1v1.

Cirencester then created a couple of chances of their own, and as the hour mark approached increased their lead when EDWARD SCOTT arrived at the back post to head home following a corner kick.

The home side reacted to this further setback and pressed forward but ‘keeper Newbery was in determined mood, denying Lewis Powell from close range before producing a fantastic double save.

Another superb all-round team performance from The Centurions to return with the 3-points from their second placed opponents – well done lads.
