The Swans score two goals in two minutes to take the 3-points

Uhlsport Hellenic League

Premier Division

Cirencester Town  0 - 2  Slimbridge

The latest visitors to The Talent Hire Stadium for an Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division fixture was former Southern League opponents SLIMBRIDGE and following an ‘end-to-end’ encounter it was the visitors that took the points with two goals in two minutes at the end of the first half.

Cirencester started quickly as they pressed their visitors with Jack Horrell clipping an early effort over the Slimbridge crossbar but it wasn’t long before ‘The Swans’ mounted a quick counter that required home custodian Ronnie Newbery to leave his box to clear the threat.

Leading up to the interval both sides were having periods of possession without producing an end product but at the 45-minute mark it all changed as Slimbridge worked the ball across the pitch for BOGDAN MARA to strike a thunderbolt from 30 yards that evaded Newbery.  0-1.

Two minutes later, as Cirencester pressed, the visitors countered quickly to send the ball into the home box for THEO CLAYSON to provide the final touch from a couple of yards.  0-2.

After the interval Cirencester pressed hard and had an effort cleared from the goal-line, whilst Slimbridge countered quickly to pose a constant threat – an interception and run resulted in Clayson firing over the home goal.

During the final quarter Cirencester continued to press but could not open their account - the nearest being a low Jordan Morris cross that passed through the visitors 6-yard box and past the far-right post with two incoming Centurions finishing in the net.
