The Centurions steal all the points at Inkberrow

Uhlsport Hellenic League
Premier Division
Sporting Club Inkberrow 1 - 2 Cirencester Town
The Centurions made the long journey to Worcestershire to meet SPORTING CLUB INKBERROW, their latest Uhlsport Hellenic League – Premier Division opponents, and produced a determined performance to bring back the 3 points despite being under severe pressure for most of the match.
Prior to the match the unbeaten hosts sat in fourth place in the table and with the wind behind them they opened strongly to test their lowly opponents but The Centurions were up for the challenge and defended as if their lives depended on it from the start - making numerous blocks throughout, and if the defence was breached ‘keeper Ronnie Newbery was having a storming game behind them with many superb saves to deny the hosts.
As the half-time interval approached Cirencester mounted a swift break down their right flank for Finley Bell to lob the ball towards Aidan Bennett, as he burst into the home box, but the onrushing ‘keeper clattered into him and a Penalty Kick was awarded that JACK HORRELL calmly tucked inside the right post.
The home side levelled before the hour when, following another period of pressure, the ball was laid back to JAY HIGGINS-PUGSLEY who drove it inside the far post, aided by a deflection.
The Centurions were then put under enormous pressure but as the final whistle approached, they mounted another swift counter down their left flank for Bennett to send a low cross into the home 6-yard box where JERZY MARSZALEK arrived to poke it into the net and snatch victory.
