The third Pre-Season match took the young Cirencester squad to Oldends Lane – the home of competition hosts STONEHOUSE TOWN – to defend the SEVERN SPORT SHIELD that they won last season and after an entertaining match against FOREST GREEN ROVERS U18’s they were defeated 4-2.
Cirencester opened the scoring after seven minutes when ALEX BELL latched on to a Rovers error to finish from the edge of the box and during the early phase of the match pressed the Rovers to good effect but shortly after the mid-point of the half the Rovers scored twice through JESSE ALDRIDGE and THOMAS CONTEH to lead at the interval.
Within minutes of the re-start Rovers SERGI ISMAIL added a third but Cirencester responded to the challenge as MARCEL scored with 15-minutes remaining to provide some tension before FRASER BELL made sure of victory for Rovers 5-minutes from time.
