The Centurions made to battle for the points at Hertford Town

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Hertford Town  2 - 3  Cirencester Town

For the last time this season The Centurions made the long journey across the country for a league match and despite being put under significant pressure by their hosts, Hertford Town, returned with the 3 points on offer.

The last away fixture of the season took Cirencester to meet one of the best footballing sides in the Division and after having two narrow escapes in the opening ten minutes the visitors scored mid-way through the half when REEGAN MESSENGER volleyed a looping ball into the net.

Undeterred ‘The Blues’ continued to play their passing style of football to press their visitors and were rewarded when BRIAN GARZON rifled his shot into the top left corner two minutes into ‘added-time’.

The hosts came out of the traps very quickly for the second half and immediately pressed their visitors and approaching the hour took the lead when WILSON PALOMEQUE-BERNAL tucked a low cross into the bottom left corner.

As the game entered the final quarter Cirencester equalised when AIDAN BENNETT diverted a cross from the right flank into the net from close range.

The visitors regained the lead ten minutes from time when FELIX MILES drove the ball inside the right post and despite being put under immense pressure, they managed to hold on to take the points.
