The teenage midfielder has followed fellow Academy teammate Jordan Morris in stepping up to the senior set-up at The New Lawn.
Since progressing through the FGR Youth system as a teenager, the 18-year-old from Longlevens in Gloucester has made a major impact in his time with the Academy, featuring in pre-season friendlies with the first team squad upon Mark Cooper's arrival as manager.
He gained vital playing time with a highly beneficial loan spell at National League South Weston-super-Mare last season where he made an impression in his time with the Seagulls.
Having also represented the Aston Villa academy, Anderson spent part of his childhood growing up in Cyprus, and is relishing the prospect of life as a professional footballer this coming season.
He said: "It makes me very proud to say – I pinch myself sometimes still that I can say I am a professional footballer after starting at the age of four and I've eventually got here and signed that contract it's a great feeling.
"I've signed the contract but I haven't done anything in football. I'm at the first stage. I need to get on the bench, play a few games, and work my way up from there. I know myself I haven't done anything technically yet.
"I realise that as a first year you're not exactly going to be put into the first team here at Forest Green straight away so I know I've got to work hard at loan clubs wherever I'm put. I know I've got to do a job, come back, and hope for the best."
Academy Manager Scott Bartlett also coached Anderson at Weston-super-Mare last season in his loan spell at Woodspring Park and was pleased to see him earn a full time deal.
He added: "Tommy fully deserves this opportunity. Not only has he done very well whenever called into the first team environment he has been a fantastic example on and off the pitch throughout his time at the Academy.
"I had no hesitation to take him to Weston-super-Mare last season as I was confident in his ability to play National League South football. We as a club are delighted he has signed a professional contract and are putting things in place to help with the next phase of his development."
A former St Peter's High School student in Gloucester, Anderson combined his football in the FGR Academy with his studies at South Gloucestershire & Stroud College, and now becomes the eighth new addition to Forest Green's first ever Football League squad.
After a season 'on loan' Tommy signed for Cirencester Town in the summer of 2018.
