Pooky began his career with the Swindon Town Youth system. He went on to make 109 first team appearances for the club.
He has also played for Cheltenham Town (where he once scored a hat-trick in an amazing 6-5 win against Burton Albion), Oxford City, Maidenhead United and Chippenham Town.
Mike was a classy, clever, precise midfielder who could unlock defences with a telling pass before he retired at the end of the 2021-22 season
