Adam Mahdi

Midfielder

DOB:  2 December 1989

Taken from www.bristolrovers.wikia.com/wiki

Adam Mahdi is a midfielder who has come through the Rovers' youth system at the Bristol Academy of Sport. He was one of seven players promoted to the first team squad in the 2007 off-season, along with Charlie Clough, Tom Godsell, Matt Groves, Alex Kite, Ryan Paddock and Charlie Reece. He remained a Rovers player for just under two seasons, until being released on 19 March 2009 without having made any first team appearances.

Mahdi had three loan spells at other clubs while a Rovers player. In August 2008 he joined Cirencester Town on a month long loan, where he played alongside former Rovers forward Julian Alsop and ex-Rovers reserve player Matt Thorne. Following the expiry of his month at Cirencester, during which he played four league games and scored in the final match of the spell against Cinderford Town, he joined Clevedon Town on loan. He made his third loan move of the season in January, when he went to Godalming Town, but he made just one start and one substitute appearance in the league for them. Shortly after returning to the Pirates from Godalming his contract was canceled and he left the club.

Following a successful trial with the club, Adam joined Brislington at the beginning of October 2009, but left the club before the end of the 2009–10 season. He started the following season with Clevedon Town, where he had previously had a loan spell, but he was released in November for disciplinary reasons after having been sent off twice, whereupon he joined fellow Southern League Division 1 South & West side Almondsbury Town. His on-pitch discipline problems followed him to the Almonds however, and he was sent off in the final game of the season for abusive language to the assistant referee.

He was forced to move clubs again in 2011 when Almondsbury Town disbanded their first team at the end of the 2010–11 season, and Adam spent the following campaign with Paulton Rovers. He re-joined Clevedon Town in the summer of 2012, but was on the move again a couple of months later when he was signed by Brislington for a second spell with them.

His first game back in a Brislington shirt came on 9 October 2012, and was a memorable one, ending in a 6–5 victory over Radstock Town. The game also saw Mahdi score and get sent off. As well as playing on Saturdays, Adam played for Sunday League side Jolly Boys throughout the 2012–13 season, leading the club to victory in the GFA Sunday Premier Cup.
