GLADIATORS SQUAD UNDER 10 NORTH WILTS YOUTH & MINOR SOUTH LEAGUE
We play matches in the U10 South League of the North Wiltshire Youth & Minor League (NWSL) with some of our games being played against local clubs such as South Cerney, where the banter is always enjoyable and fun when we find ourselves with friends on each side.
The season starts quickly on the first weekend and continues through to the end of March. Players rotate through league matches and we believe that at this age all players should be given the chance to play as often as possible. Of course, there are always those at any given moment in time who seem to perform better then others but if coaching young players tells us one thing, then it is that you can’t assume anything as they all develop at different speeds! Management of the team and its training programme is through Nick Holmes and Duncan Stone and both have recently completed their Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football. The aim of our matches is to see where players have got to in their football development. Play is based on teamwork, communication, discipline and a positive attitude, all built on fun and enjoyment. We believe coaches and parents of such young players should not pressure the players to WIN and all U10 coaches, parents and players follow the Club Code of Conduct. We are proud of our achievement in terms of standards of sportsmanship on and off the pitch.
The mini soccer years should be amongst the most enjoyable for both the players and the parents, and we all work hard to ensure this is so! |
