SWINDON TOWN SPITFIRES V CIRENCESTER LADIES

Swindon Spitfire Ladies 1 Cirencester Town Ladies 6

Cirencester started positively in the first minute with Annie-Five lobbing with style the Spitfires keeper from 25 yards out.

Slewis followed shortly afterwards with a powerful run down the right wing cutting into the box to convert into the top left hand corner.

However, Spitfires fought back pressurising the left wing. Nonetheless, the Centurion defence of Wadd, Dunn, Wadd, and Harvey rose to the challenge admirably. Vickers, after joining in on the defence, turned it into attack slotting home the Ladies third just before the interval.

Spitfires started the second half brightly scoring a quick goal catching the Ladies off-guard. However, Slewis edged Cirencester forwards being rewarded with her second goal challenging the goalkeeper with a great work rate up front.

The Centurions were then awarded a penalty when Bennett was illegally forced off the ball which Captain Chaos converted comfortably. Bennett capped off a good all round team performance as she determinedly persisted alongside Slewis in pressurising the Spitfires keeper, and tidied up the spillage into the back of the net.

L. Wadd received Player of the Match after a tidy determined effort.

Next Sunday 18th November, Cirencester Town Ladies FC takes on Cheltenham Town Ladies FC in the County Cup on the Centurion main pitch. K.O. 2pm. Supporters would be graciously welcomed in this feisty derby.
