REAM WESTON V CIRENCESTER TOWN LADIES
Team Weston 1 Cirencester Town Ladies 4
With a tired team from the previous nights team bonding exercise, and an unknown opposition, the Ladies took no chances and sped out of the starting blocks beginning the half in an exuberant fashion.
Cirencester gained the upper hand by linking together passes to create a number of openings; as well as the defence clearing with intent to attack by threading through a number of looping balls.
With Weston’s only apparent form of attack initially being a route one ball, Geoff, Dunn, and Harvey put head to ball successfully averting any danger.
Vickers then gave the visitors the lead with great composure midway through the first period. However, late in the first half this was cancelled out with a sloppy goal where lack of concentration was a large factor.
Nonetheless, the Ladies returned for the second half with renewed vigour and Vickers again slotted away with ease after a great threading ball from Wadd. Ciren then converted again with a fine cross from Senior creating confusion allowing JB to capitalise. Finally, Dunn sent a curving ball from defence into Vickers’ path allowing her to complete her hatrick in style with an accurate lob.
A great all-round team performance with Dunn receiving Player of the Match.
