CIRENCESTER TOWN V BRISTOL ACADEMY A LADIES

CIRENCESTER TOWN LADIES 0 BRISTOL ACADEMY 2

With Bristol Academy already securing some impressive victories, the Ladies were always the underdogs. And Bristol’s intentions were shown after just 45 seconds with a low, hard strike just inside the front post finding the back of Cirens net.

However, the Ladies kept positive and produced good passages of passing and movement. The new midfield trio of Chaos, Five, and Spike combined well creating a number of outlets towards goal. And with Vickers cutting off the left wing with merit Ciren pressured to good effect.

Nevertheless, the Academy was as equally impressive in pressurising the Centurions defence, but the new central partnership of Wadd and Dunn stepped up to the challenge and mopped up well.

Following tradition, for the third consecutive week Ciren conceded a penalty with Harvey accidentally tripping a Bristol forward in an attempt to get into a ‘goal-side’ position. The Bristolians converted in a fortunate fashion, with Ciren keeper Rohan reaching a hand to it.

The second half started brightly with the Ciren team knowing that there was all to play for. Great displays of possession were shown, and a calm defensive unit averted any dangers. However, amiss to the visual credibility’s, the Ladies failed to score and the match ended 0-2.
