Yay! A trophy to be treasured Clap

in the Fantasy league

Long time booked tickets for Toffees vs Barcodes on Sunday and then that is the season over for me. I'll save the programme for Dunny, hand it over prob at a pre-season game.

Talking of wooden spoons, while we finished plumb bottom I do think we will continue to look up. As long as somehow enough folks can be energised to to pitch in and offer some time and effort where it is needed. Heh! If I put in a bit of time & effort maybe my Fantasy team will improve as well?

Spare a thought for Totton. Spectacular rise, loads of money available and to be fair they did find some cracking local players who stuck together over more than a few years. But it looks to be falling apart. According to the Non-League paper the chap who had been funding them has moved his favours up the road to Eastleigh, and if the rumours are to be believed the manager will follow this summer. Once more, Totton have not cracked it and for the third year have their version of a much more disappointing wooden spoon.

Will be interesting to see how Totton set about recovering from their version of a wooden spoon. In the circumstances, it might be harder to recover from that than it will be for us lot.

Had to work hard for that last place coincidence. My Fantasy Manager technique Clap

of
- pick team based on favourite Bluenoses,
- add ugly defenders
- then mix in furrin midfielders
- then make the really bad mistake of including a snidey RS with a reputation for scoring goals. Pfft

was then upped a level by never, ever, making a change. Gah.

Am certain Mr Hughes did not use the same technique. His were real world injuries while mine were fantasy injuries. Think I had only about 8 point scoring (point losing?) players some weeks. Though, thinking about it, maybe picking ugly defenders was similar to Hughesies method? Tongue

Sadly, my second life of being a roadie means I cannot attend in person. Instead, the pit of the world, Bridgwater Labour Club on Friday for me. Just as well, considering you mad meffs would have just thrown things.

I organised the Cirentownfc Fantasy Premier League at the start of the season for a bit of fun. Well 26 teams eneterd the league and there are prizes at the club presentation night for the teams in the following positions: 1st, 2nd and the team finishing in the same league position as the CTFC 1st team.

Currently - 1st is What A Pity (Ollie Pitt).

2nd is DunnysDynamos (Tony Dunn).

Same pos as CTFC, 22nd in the league is BrissleBlue (Ian Stewart).

This is the last game week for us and prizes will be presented at the Club Presentation night, Fri 4 May.

Worcester City's Lee Smith charged over 'racist' tweets

Lee Smith's Worcester City contract runs out at the end of the season

A Worcester City footballer is being prosecuted after allegedly posting racist comments on Twitter.

Lee Smith, 28, will appear at Gloucester Magistrates' Court charged with writing racially aggravated words.

A tweet from Mr Smith's account on Armistice Day last November prompted other users to accuse him of "spreading hatred".

He was temporarily suspended by the club and arrested on suspicion of committing a public order offence.

The club lifted its suspension the following week.

At the time, Gloucestershire Police had advised Mr Smith about his behaviour and no further action was taken.

The Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed he will now appear in court in May charged with writing racially aggravated words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to the public.

Club vice chairman Colin Layland said he did not wish to comment but said the club had not been aware of the charges until recently.

He also added that Mr Smith's contract runs out at the end of the season.

Mr Smith, who lives in Gloucestershire, is due to appear at Gloucester Magistrates' Court on 4 May.

We had a good meeting with an excellent attendance and the main thing agreed was that we will be staying in the Southern League, so we should be "locking horns" again, as you put it, with both Cinderford Town and Bishops Cleeve.

There will be an Open Meeting in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm on Thursday 12th April 2012 to discuss the future direction and funding of the first team.
