Bridgwater Town 2 - 3 Cirencester TownCarl Brown made it five goals in four league games as Cirencester came from behind to claim all three points with a superb display at Bridgwater on Tuesday night. Pacy front man Brown produced two quality finishes late in the second half to leave Town just a point off the top of the table after their third win of the campaign. In the first half, however, Bridgwater dominated with their own brand of strong-running football and it was no surprise when they went ahead in the 17^th minute. It was a quality goal, too, Nat Pepperall volleying in at the back post after a long cross in from the left. Despite their superiority, Bridgwater could not extend their advantage and Jody Bevan came close to levelling it for Town just before the break when forcing a good save out of Sam Hutchings after good interplay with Scott Griffin. The game turned in the second half after a frenetic five-minute spell when three Town players were booked – Tom Etheridge (foul), Carl Brown (foul) and Griffin (dissent). Incensed by these decisions, Town manager Brian Hughes made his feelings plain to the referee and was promptly banished to the stands. The game could have got away from Town at this point but spurred on by their sense of injustice they rallied in tremendous style. Chris Williams, having his best game in a Town shirt, set the ball rolling with his first goal for the club in the 63^rd minute. After good work by Jamie Reid on the right, Brown jinked and shot and, though the effort was going wide, Williams, following up, put the ball away from six yards. Town were in full flight now and Brown’s brace put the game beyond the hosts. Firstly, he beat the defence to a ball over the top from Williams in the 70th minute, finishing clinically from just inside the area. Seven minutes later, Brown got on the end of a long clearance from Matt Bath in goal to produce a finish of similar quality from the left side of the 18-yard box. Jamie Price pulled one back for Bridgwater deep into stoppage time but Town were well worth their win thanks to a magnificent second half display which has put them behind just VT FC and Windsor & Eton in the early standings.
