Another spirited performance but no points for The Centurions

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Kidlington FC  4 - 3  Cirencester Town

Cirencester travelled to Kidlington for this re-arranged mid-week league fixture and despite dominating possession (and having two ‘goals’ disallowed) found themselves 3-0 down at the interval. They continued to press in the second half and pulled back two goals before conceding a Penalty Kick and eventually went down by the odd goal in seven.

The hosts opened the scoring when BEN RICHARDS nodded home a free kick at the back post after 15 minutes and they added a second when FELIPE BARCELOS scored in the run-up to the interval.  On the stroke of half-time BEN RICHARDS scored his second.

Cirencester continued to press after the break and were finally rewarded when FELIX MILES burst into the home box to fire inside the far post and HARRY BURNS added another three minutes later to increase the tension before FELIPE BARCELOS added his second from the Penalty Spot. The Centurions continued to take the game to their hosts and late in the game NICK PEARE bundled the ball home from close range but it was not enough and they went down by the odd goal.
