For the third successive week The Corinium Stadium was the venue for a league fixture and after a difficult match against experienced WARE FC it was an Own Goal that separated the teams as the visitors ended The Centurions unbeaten home record.
Cirencester’s opening quarter looked promising as they pressed their visitors but shortly after this point the home defence was called into action to block three quick shots on their goal as Ware started to threaten.
Shortly afterwards Ware hit the bar and scored from a free kick that was diverted into the home net for an OWN GOAL.
After the interval Ware pressed and Cirencester mounted counter attacks but as they gained some momentum the flow of the game was interrupted by free kicks.
Shortly after the mid-point as Cirencester pressed more often they had an effort cleared off the line and struck a post, and when Ware countered they also had an effort cleared off the home goal line.
In the final moments of the game Cirencester pressed hard but couldn’t find a way through the visitor’s defence.
