The Centurions battled hard but unbeaten league leaders took the points

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Bedford Town  3 - 1  Cirencester Town

Cirencester made the long trip across the country to face unbeaten League leaders BEDFORD TOWN and after a battling performance returned empty-handed.

The Eagles started strongly and opened the scoring after 13 minutes when a counter attack and cross from their right flank reached LOUIS WALSH who drove it into the net at the back post.

Undeterred by the setback Cirencester continued to push forward at every opportunity and tested their hosts defence but no further goals were added before the interval.

Both sides pressed after the break and shortly after the 60-minutes mark Bedford added a second when a pass across the front edge of the Cirencester Penalty Area was intercepted enabling LOUIS WALSH to double his tally with a composed finish.

Cirencester replied a few minutes later when debutant FELIX MILES latched onto the ball on the edge of the home box and fired it inside the right post.

Despite a spirited performance from Cirencester the league leaders made sure of victory when RYAN BLAKE converted a late Penalty Kick.
