Cirencester draw final Pre-Season Friendly match against 10-man Evesham United

Pre-Season Friendly

Evesham United  1 – 1  Cirencester Town

The final Pre-Season Friendly match took Cirencester to former adversaries Evesham United, of the Southern League – Division 1 South, and despite their hosts being reduced to 10-men after five minutes they returned with a draw following a disjointed performance.

The pitch was in remarkable condition despite the heavy rainfall leading up to kick-off so a fast-paced game was anticipated but within five minutes the Evesham Captain was dismissed forcing them into a re-shuffle.

The home side looked the more dangerous in the early stages, even though they were a man down, with the more accurate passing combined with long balls to their flanks, and at the mid-point of the half the tricky Amadh slid a sublime pass through the Cirencester defence for JORDAN LYMN to collect and round the advancing ‘keeper before tapping into the empty net.

Cirencester responded to the setback to threaten but too many miss-placed passes brought their progress to a halt.

Ten minutes after the interval Cirencester equalised when they pressed for REEGAN MESSENGER to intercept a back-pass and toe-poke the ball into the net.

Cirencester worked the ball down their flanks with numerous crosses delivered into the home box and Evesham countered with both defences resolute.
