Josh Nelmes scores two in latest friendly match

Pre-Season Friendly

Cirencester Town  4 – 0  Westbury United

The latest Pre-Season Friendly match brought Westbury United of the Southern League - Division 1 South to The Corinium Stadium and after an opening minute let-off The Centurions went on to secure a comfortable victory.

Straight from Cirencester’s kick-off the visitors won the ball and created a 1v1 situation on the edge of the Penalty Area with ‘keeper Stuart Nelson who quickly advanced from his line and the resulting shot was wide of the right post.

A minute later Cirencester opened their account as JOSH NELMES back post header from a corner kick clipped the inside of the left post on its way into the back of the net.

Cirencester doubled their lead after 16 minutes when a DAN GRIEVE effort was deflected into the net and two minutes later JOSH NELMES added his second with another powerful header inside the right post.

At the mid-point of the first half Westbury had another 1v1 situation but again shot wide of the right post.

Throughout the game both sides were moving the ball around the park quickly, even with the many substitutions, and shortly after the hour Cirencester added another when CHARLIE McCRAE tucked the ball home from a narrow angle after the visitors ‘keeper parried a Charlie Johnson shot.
