Pre-Season Friendly
Malmesbury Victoria 0 – 4 Cirencester Town
Cirencester took their squad to near neighbours Malmesbury Victoria for their latest Pre-Season Friendly match and following an entertaining match came away with a 4-0 victory.
The intermittent rain didn’t deter the players involved as they produced a competitive match with Cirencester opening the scoring after 16 minutes when a superb cross from Will Christopher was firmly headed inside the far-right post by HARRY BURNS.
During the opening half hour Cirencester pressed their hosts who responded with quick counter attacks, often involving Danny Gudger.
The second half followed a similar pattern and shortly after the hour Cirencester added a second when LUCA ROBINSON converted a low cross from close range.
Four minutes later Cirencester were awarded a Penalty Kick, after Robinson was tripped in the Penalty Area, and JAKE LEE drove it inside the right post.
As the game was drawing to a close AIDAN BENNETT was brought down as he advanced into the home box but he quickly regained his feet to finish into the empty net.
During the final few minutes Joe Ward was prominent as he burst down the Malmesbury right flank to provide an opportunity for Kyle Will, but his close-range effort was blocked at the right post, and then Ward fired over from the edge of the box.
