Cirencester win final match of the season to finish sixth

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Kempston Rovers  0 - 3  Cirencester Town

Cirencester made another long journey across the country, for the final time this season, to face Kempston Rovers and made the perfect start as they scored in the opening minutes and went on to add two more without reply to return with the three points.

Almost immediately from the kick-off they were awarded a corner kick which was converted at the back post by JAKE LEE.

A few minutes later Lee had the chance to double his tally from the spot but he placed his kick wide of the right post.

Shortly before the mid-point of the half the home side mounted a couple of attacks of their own but Cirencester added a second after some clever play from ADULAI SAMBU created room for him to tuck his shot inside the right post.

In the minutes before the interval Cirencester had a number of shots blocked inside the home box and they continued to press immediately from the re-start.

Leading up to the hour mark and beyond Kempston countered more often but Cirencester dealt with the threats and added a third following a driving run from Sambu that resulted in the ball breaking loose on the edge of the box for JOE SHEPHERD to smash it inside the left post.
