Cirencester score six to end Walthamstow unbeaten run

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Cirencester Town  6 - 1  Walthamstow

The final home league match of the season brought third-placed Walthamstow to The Corinium Stadium and in front of a crowd that included a number of Juniors from local clubs The Centurions put on an impressive display as they took a 6-0 lead before their high-flying opponents, who were on an 11-game unbeaten run, converted a late Penalty Kick.

Cirencester opened the scoring with a firm strike from LEVI IRVING from the edge of the Penalty Area after 11 minutes and doubled their tally when AIDAN BENNETT bundled the ball over the line 15-minutes later.

Five minutes later REEGAN MESSENGER struck a fierce shot from 30 yards that flew inside the left post and JAKE LEE converted a Penalty Kick to make it 4-0 shortly before the interval.

Three minutes after returning to action JOE SHEPHERD swept a cross inside the right post and at the mid-point of the half AIDAN BENNETT added his second when he tucked a cross into the net from near the penalty Spot.

Walthamstow reduced the arrears ten minutes later as DAMARAY ANYADIKE scored from the Penalty Spot.
