The Centurions denied by The Bricks

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Cirencester Town  2 - 2  Hadley

Following their disappointing defeat in mid-week The Centurions produced a much more dynamic performance against The Bricks of Hadley FC but were denied by some last gasp blocks by their ‘keeper, Luke Ward.

Cirencester started positively and took an early lead when LEVI IRVING rounded the defenders to tuck his shot into the net after 7 minutes but before the mid-point was reached the visitors took advantage of Cirencester ‘keeper Alex Harris leaving his area to level through EDWARD DAVIS.

The game continued at a frantic pace and despite the home side creating a couple of openings it remained level at the interval.

Cirencester regained the lead before the hour mark following a flowing move that released JORDAN MORRIS into the visitor’s box and he placed his shot inside the right post.

As Cirencester pressed Hadley countered and a period of pressure from the visitors around the 80-minute mark resulted in LUKE ALFANO clipping the ball into the top left corner.

This signalled another surge as both sides pressed for a winner – Lawrence Ajong was denied in a 1v1 with Harris and Luke Ward made three vital blocks in the dying minutes of the match.
