The Centurions dominate local Boxing Day fixture

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Highworth Town  0 - 4  Cirencester Town

The Centurions returned to action on Boxing day, after the 3-week lay-off due to the weather, with a local derby match against neighbours Highworth Town and dominated proceedings to score two goals in each half to secure the three points.

The visitors scored two goals in two minutes before the mid-point of the first half as LEVI IRVING had a ‘tap-in’ from the edge of the home 6-yard box before the returning ZACHARY GUINAN opened his Cirencester account from a similar position a minute later.

Despite their dominance it took until the hour mark for Cirencester to add a third as the home defence battled valiantly to deny their visitors but they could not prevent ANDY LEWIS also opening his Cirencester account with a back post header following a corner kick.

In added-time REEGAN MESSEGER added a fourth with a rasping drive across the box.
