Cirencester made to work hard against 10-man Harlow Town

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Cirencester Town  2 - 0  Harlow Town

The latest visitors to The Corinium Stadium were Harlow Town as the fixture was revered, due to problems with the Harlow pitch, and despite going a man down mid-way through the first half Harlow battled valiantly to keep their hosts at bay but finally succumbed shortly after the mid-point of the second and in ‘added-time’ Cirencester added another to seal the result.

In a game that started with too many long balls from both sides there was only glimpses of the ability that was available and shortly after the mid-point the visitors were reduced to 10-men when Levi Irving latched onto a miss-kick and was brought down as he attempted to take advantage - the Referee deciding the culprit was the last man.

Harlow reorganised and relied on counter attacks and it proved difficult for Cirencester to break them down until mid-way into the second half a deep corner kick reached JAY SIMPSON at the back post and he drove the ball into the net.

With nothing to lose Harlow brought on another forward and the final few minutes were tense until JAKE LEE added a second with a powerful header at the back post in 'added-time'.
