Another brace for Levi
Pitching In Southern League
Division 1 Central
Cirencester Town 2 - 1 Hertford Town
Cirencester continued their run of home fixtures with a match against Hertford Town and after scoring two goals within eight minutes of kick-off went on to dominate the first period but after the interval the visitors rallied to score mid-way through the second period leading to a tense finale.
The Centurions made the perfect start when LEVI IRVING latched onto a loose pass just outside the visitor’s box, turned and drove it inside the right post within two minutes of kick-off.
Cirencester pressed forward and following a couple of forays to the left corner a clipped cross to the back post was headed inside the same post by LEVI IRVING – despite the ‘keeper getting a hand to it.
The visitors responded to fire wide of the target and shortly after the second goal Conor Clarke struck the home cross-bar but generally The Centurions dominated the half and should have added to their tally.
After the interval Hertford came out with renewed purpose and whilst Cirencester continued to press the visitors were allowed a bit more space and began to play with their speedy wingers particularly prominent – resulting in a low cross from the right being converted from the edge of the 6-yard box by DAVID OGBONNA mid-way through the half and this led to an exciting finale.
