The Centurions return with a point from Walthamstow

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Walthamstow FC  0 - 0  Cirencester Town

For the second successive weekend Cirencester were involved in a long journey to the area north of London, this week to face WALTHAMSTOW FC, and after a hard-fought, competitive and frantic match that contained plenty of effort but few chances for either side The Centurions returned with a point.

The visitors put their hosts under plenty of pressure and probably shaded the first half but couldn’t find a goal and after the interval it was a much more even contest with the home side creating the better chances but being denied by resolute defending from their visitors.

In ‘added-time’ Walthamstow were denied a ‘winner’ when Jordan Watson collected a cross from the right and fired towards the left post but Cirencester Skipper Jake Lee managed to stretch, block and clear the goal-bound effort on the line.

Based on the overall game it was probably a fair result.
