Cirencester through to the next round of The Isuzu FA Trophy

The Isuzu FA Trophy

Second Round Qualifying

Cirencester Town  3 - 2  Paulton Rovers

Former league rivals Paulton Rovers travelled to The Corinium Stadium for this Second Round Qualifying match in The Isuzu FA Trophy and after going behind in the 12th minute the visitors recovered to take the lead but before the interval it was all-square.  Cirencester regained the lead early in the second period and despite plenty of possession were unable to add to their tally but progress to the next round of the competition.

In-form ADULAI SAMBU opened the scoring for the hosts when he converted a cross from the right flank at the near post and KYLE TOOZE equalised after 29 minutes from the Penalty Spot before scoring his second 3 minutes later from close range.

Shortly before the interval ROSS GABRIEL clipped his shot over the ‘keeper and inside the left post to level.

Eleven minutes into the second period Gabriel was put through on goal but his shot struck the base of the left post for a supporting REEGAN MESSENGER to bundle the rebound over the line.

Cirencester continued to press their visitors who responded with counter attacks and after a very entertaining game it is the home side that go through to the next round.
