Adulai Sambu hat-trick in FA Trophy tie at Basingstoke

The Isuzu FA Trophy

First Round Qualifying

Basingstoke Town  3 - 5 Cirencester Town

Following the decision to postpone all football at the weekend, due to the sad passing of HM The Queen, Cirencester travelled to Basingstoke Town for a mid-week fixture in The Isuzu FA Trophy and an eventful cup-tie ensued that included 8 goals, 3 Penalty Kicks, 2 Hat-tricks and a Sending-off.

Cirencester opened the scoring nine minutes into the game when LEVI IRVING produced a glancing header from a Jordan Lymn cross from their right flank.

Three minutes later the visitors added a second when JAKE LEE scored from the Penalty Spot following a ‘handball’ decision.

Basingstoke responded to open their account with a fierce strike from EZIO TOURAY that flew into the top right corner of the goal.

Six minutes before the interval the home side were reduced to ten men when Nathan Smart was dismissed after being issued with his second Yellow Card.

A few minutes after the re-start ADULAI SAMBU cut inside from the right flank and his shot took a huge deflection to finish inside the left post.

Basingstoke replied immediately as EZIO TOURAY tucked a loose ball into the bottom corner and despite a strong suspicion of ‘offside’ the goal stood.

Around the mid-point of the second half ADULAI SAMBU scored his second with a composed finish past an advancing ‘keeper.

Eight minutes from the scheduled end of the match ADULAI SAMBU completed his hat-trick from the Penalty Spot with a firm strike inside the left post.

In ‘added-time’ EZIO TOURAY converted another Penalty Kick to completed his ‘hat-trick’ and the scoring for the night.
