Missed chances cost The Centurions

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 Central

Cirencester Town  1 - 2  Welwyn Garden City

Following their successful FA Cup exploits in mid-week The Centurions returned to league action with a home fixture against WELWYN GARDEN CITY and after missing several early chances the home side finally opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time through LEVI IRVING.

The Citizens made a change at the interval and with nothing to lose took the game to their hosts and just after the hour mark equalised as a CHEYCE GRANT shot struck the inside of the far-right post en-route to the back of the net.

Three minutes later Grant turned provider as another shot across the goal-mouth was parried by ‘keeper Alex Harris into the path of MAX JESSOP who tapped it into the vacant net from a couple of yards.

Cirencester were unable to convert the few chances they created in the second period and The Citizens left with the 3 points.
