Two 'hat-tricks' in latest victory for 'The Centurions'

Pitching In Southern League

Division 1 South

Cirencester Town  6 - 0  Slimbridge

Cirencester returned to league action with the visit of County rivals Slimbridge to The Corinium Stadium and produced a thoroughly professional performance that included two ‘hat-tricks’ in their victory.

‘The Centurions’ opened the scoring within 3 minutes when JOSH PARSONS reacted quickest to nod home a rebound from a few yards and whilst Slimbridge reacted positively to this early setback, with Marley Thomas and Jamie Martin prominent down their flanks, the home defence were in mean mood to deny them a break-through.

Shortly after the mid-point of the half debutant HARRY WILLIAMS lobbed the advancing keeper to double the lead.

After the interval Cirencester once again scored an early goal as JOSH PARSONS was lurking to finish from close range and despite this further setback Slimbridge continued to push forward at every opportunity but conceded again when a long ball down the centre bounced over a very advanced ‘Swans’ keeper as he slipped enabling HARRY WILLIAMS to collect and run it into the vacant net.

As the game entered the final phase Slimbridge pressed forward again with some neat passing as they worked their way down their right flank but the resulting shots were blocked.

In the final 15 minutes HARRY WILLIAMS and JOSH PARSONS completed their hat-tricks as the former was on hand to ‘tap-in’ at the back post and the latter rounded an advancing ‘keeper to finish.
