Two hat-tricks in eight-goal thriller of a cup tie

Pitching In League Challenge Cup

First Round

Cirencester Town 5 - 3  Stratford Town

Stratford Town were the latest visitors to The Corinium Stadium for a League Challenge Cup tie that produced an 8-goal thriller.

To say the action was fast and furious would be an understatement with both sides going at it ‘hammer and tongs’ throughout and it was the home side that opened the scoring when LEVI IRVING drove the ball home following a corner kick.

Fifteen minutes later it was all-square as ENOCH ANDOH converted a cross from the right flank but Cirencester regained the lead when LEVI IRVING headed the ball over the line after ‘keeper Liam O’Brien had parried a fierce Joe Shepherd shot.

After the break it was more of the same.

Within 3 minutes of the re-start LEVI IRVING scored his third when he tucked a low cross inside the right post but two minutes later ENOCH ANDOH also scored from close range to reduce the arrears.

Before the hour mark Irving turned provider when, following a strong run down the left channel, he squared the ball to BEN WHITEHEAD who made no mistake from 8 yards.

Shortly afterwards Irving did it again as he latched onto a tremendous Jordan Morris pass to lay the ball into the path of ROSS GABRIEL who finished from the edge of the 6-yard box.

Stratford continued to counter at pace and with under ten minutes remaining ENOCH ANDOH completed his hat-trick at the left post.
