Three second half goals provide victory for The Centurions

Pre-Season 2020-21

Friendly

Cirencester Town   3 – 0   Wantage Town

In dreadful weather conditions - gale force winds and rain – Cirencester hosted Wantage Town of the Southern League – Central Division and scored three goals after the interval to record victory.

The home side played into the wind and rain during the first half and whilst they had plenty of possession they couldn’t find the telling pass to break through their opponents defence and on the few occasions that they did failed to hit the target.

Cirencester broke the dead-lock 20 minutes into the second half with a slick ‘one-two’ between JOSH PARSONS and Aidan Bennett that created the room for the former to drive the ball into the net.

JOSH PARSONS doubled his tally from the Penalty Spot after he had been brought-down attempting to collect a rebound from his blocked shot.

The final goal of the game was the result of a flowing move involving several players and a low Bennett cross that ROSS GABRIEL tucked away from close range.
