Two goals in three minutes secures victory against Fairford Town in latest pre-season friendly
Pre-Season 2020-21
Friendly
Fairford Town 0 – 3 Cirencester Town
Cirencester made the short journey to near neighbours Fairford Town for their 3rd pre-season friendly match and two quick goals shortly after the half-time interval secured victory for The Centurions.
The home side took the game to their opponents from the off and this resulted in a very competitive half with Cirencester opening the scoring in first half ‘added-time’ as AIDAN BENNETT followed up a partially blocked Roger James effort to score from a couple of yards.
Almost immediately after the re-start Cirencester doubled their score when a quickly taken free kick found its way to ROGER JAMES who drove it home from 15 yards.
Three minutes later ROGER JAMES nipped in front of ‘keeper Sam Ayres to collect another cross from the left to score his second of the night.
As the game progressed there many substitutions made by both sides and inevitably it became a little dis-jointed but there was plenty of endeavour on display as the players search for fitness.
