Second half 'goal-fest' at The Corinium Stadium
BetVictor Southern League 2019/20
Division 1 South
Cirencester Town 5 – 3 Cinderford Town
Gloucestershire rivals Cinderford Town were the latest team to visit The Corinium Stadium and the teams produced a very competitive and entertaining match in difficult weather conditions - with Cirencester using their flanks to good effect and Cinderford counter attacking quickly – and towards the end of the first half it was the home side that opened the scoring when a controlled WILL WELLON header dropped inside the right post.
The second half started with two goals in two minutes as CRAIG NORMAN headed an equaliser and a TOMMY ANDERSON strike regained the lead.
Cirencester increased their lead when LEVI IRVING and JONNY DENNIS added further goals but CRAIG NORMAN pulled one back after a goalmouth scramble.
In ‘added-time’ an OWN GOAL gave Cirencester their fifth and 3 minutes later Cinderford were awarded a penalty kick that CRAIG NORMAN converted to complete the scoring and his hat-trick.
