Cirencester recover from 2-goal deficit to continue unbeaten run.

BetVictor Southern League 2019/20

Division 1 South

Cirencester Town  3 – 2  Basingstoke Town

Following their League Cup success at Redditch in mid-week Cirencester returned to The Corinium Stadium to face Basingstoke Town and after going to the interval two goals down they recovered to secure their 5th successive victory.

The visitors started quickly and took the game to their hosts - scoring two goals in as many minutes with a deflected shot from BRADLEY WILSON and a delicate chip from CLAUDIO HERBERT  around the half hour.

Six minutes after the interval Cirencester pulled a goal back when LEVI IRVING produced a composed finish inside the box and ten minutes later debutant JOSH NELMES headed a corner kick home to level.

Encouraged Cirencester pressed forward and LEVI IRVING scored his second with another clinical finish after he cut in from the right flank.

In the latter stages Basingstoke mounted a couple of counter attacks but Cirencester were in no mood to give up their lead.
