Cirencester concede seven goals to former tenants.

Pre-Season 2019-20

Friendly

Cirencester Town   2 – 7   Royal Wootton Bassett Town

Cirencester hosted former tenants Royal Wootton Bassett Town of the Hellenic League - Premier Division, instead of the originally scheduled Hungerford Town (who were playing Swindon Town) of the National League South, and conceded seven goals.

After a bright start Cirencester conceded two goals in as many minutes - with a neat move and finish from BRADLEY PAGIRIOLO and a well taken free kick from CALLUM PARSONS - and after this setback they were always chasing the game and never really got to grips with their opponents who were sharper, quicker and used the ball better with slick movement and passing.

Despite pulling a goal back when ALAN GRIFFIN bundled the ball over the line, after Josh Parsons effort had been partially blocked, they conceded another when RHYS TELMASH tucked in a rebound to go to the interval 3-1 down.

After the break it was the visitors who pushed on with more positive play and just after the hour mark they scored 4 goals in 8 minutes as RHYS TELMASH completed his hat-trick, CALLUM PARSONS scored his second and substitute ALFIE PRESLEY produced a neat turn and finish from the edge of the box.

With ten minutes remaining Cirencester scored a consolation goal when RHYS SARSON powered a header inside the left post after Josh Parsons reached the left by-line to cross to the penalty spot and shortly afterwards Tommy Ouldridge headed wide but it was too little too late and the unlikely recovery never materialised.

After a solid all-round team performance Royal Wootton Bassett Town were convincing winners of the match.
