Six goals in final Pre-Season Friendly Match.

Pre-Season Friendly

Cirencester Town   2 – 4   Swindon Supermarine

The final Pre-Season Friendly Match in preparation for the upcoming season saw local rivals Swindon Supermarine visit The Corinium Stadium.

Straight from the kick off the visitors showed their intent as they attacked down the centre to win a corner kick and minutes later Conor McDonagh striking a post when put in by Josh Parsons.

Despite being under early pressure it was Cirencester that opened the scoring with a flowing move from defence, through midfield and out to Jordan Morris on the left who crossed for ALAN GRIFFIN to finish at the back post.  1-0.

Two goals in two minutes from the visitors put them in front as CONOR MCDONAGH collected a ‘pull-back’ from the by-line to fire home from just outside the 6 yard box and then he battled to regain the rebound of his earlier shot to finish from a similar position.  1-2.

After the interval it was Cirencester who were quickly out of the blocks as they levelled shortly afterwards when BEN WHITEHEAD collected a rebound near the right front corner of the area, turned and struck an unstoppable shot into the top left corner.  2-2.

‘Marine’ regained the lead as the mid-point approached when STUART FLEETWOOD latched onto a fortunate ricochet to burst into the right channel of the area where he struck a fierce shot that Matt Wieczorek got a hand to but couldn’t keep out.  2-3.

With 15 minutes remaining CONOR MCDONAGH completed his hat-trick as he slid the ball under an advancing Wieczorek and off the inside of the far left post.  2-4.
