Cirencester Town sign former Forest Green Rovers winger

As reported by Jon Palmer on www.gloucesterlive.co.uk

Former Forest Green Rovers winger Jordan Morris has signed for Cirencester Town ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The left-sided 19-year-old spent last year as a professional at Forest Green, during which he was loaned to Shortwood United.

He started out at Swindon Town, but joined Rovers' youth set-up at the age of 16.

Morris has been with Cirencester since the start of pre-season, appearing in their friendly matches and impressing boss Charlie Griffin.

He now becomes the second Rovers product to join this summer, following right winger Tommy Anderson.

Cirencester were beaten 4-0 at home by Cheltenham Town on Friday night.

Griffin said: "It was a very good work out for us and I thought we worked hard, which was what I expected plus I thought Cheltenham were very sharp, strong, quick and excellent in their play - very impressive.

"The match served its purpose in what I wanted from it.

"They gave us problems all over, which we have to deal with in and out of possession and at times in the first half we moved it to create openings.

"In the second half we grew and worked the ball well, not conceding anymore goals and we also had couple of chances.

"Overall it was a good night for my lads to play against a very good Cheltenham team."

Griffin is set to make decisions on the rest of his trialists, including Josh Beadle, after next week's friendlies against Malmesbury Victoria and Fairford Town.
