Cirencester begin preparations for 2018-19 season with a win at Longlevens.

Pre-Season 2018-19

Friendly

Longlevens   0 – 3   Cirencester Town

Cirencester made the short journey to Gloucester to play LONGLEVENS of the Hellenic Premier Division in their first Pre-Season Friendly match as preparation begin for the 2018-19 Season and came away with a 3-0 win after a competitive match played in hot conditions on a very firm surface due to the prolonged heatwave.

It took 30 minutes for Cirencester to break through - from the penalty spot - as Jordan Morris was blocked resulting in a penalty kick that BEN WHITEHEAD drove inside the right post.

Five minutes later Morris slipped the ball to BEN WHITEHEAD in the area and he carried on from his prolific goal scoring of last season with a smart turn and shot inside the far right post.

Shortly afterwards Whitehead turned provider as he released Morris for a run that took him to the left by-line where his shot clipped the near post and rebounded to ALAN GRIFFIN in the centre of the goal and he completed the task to score inside the right post from a couple of yards.

During the interval both sides made wholesale changes (Cirencester 8 and Longlevens 6) to ensure everyone available got some game time and as the half progressed other substitutions were made as players tired in the extreme heat but despite this the game was still competitive to the end.
