Cirencester pick up 3 points on the road.

Evo Stik Southern League 2017/18

West Division

Barnstaple Town   0 – 2  Cirencester Town

Cirencester made the long journey to Devon to face Barnstaple Town on a bitterly cold day and from their only shots of the half scored twice to take a lead into the interval that they kept to take the points.

The prolific BEN WHITEHEAD opened the scoring when he latched onto a pass from Aidan Bennett to drive a looping shot into the net from just inside the home penalty area.  0-1.

Barnstaple continued to press but conceded another when a quick counter attack down the left flank just before the break saw Whitehead turn provider as he played a pass towards the edge of the 6 yard box where TOMMY ANDERSON was arriving at pace to finish inside the right post.  0-2.

After the interval Cirencester started quickly and created a couple of good chances but the home side survived and gradually began to work their way into the half - finishing strongly - but they were unable to break through a determined Cirencester defence.
